  1. Go to the “Settings” option on your device, and select “General”, and tap “Email”.
  2. Under Common Settings, tap “Settings”.
  3. Select your “Verizon account” and go to “More Settings”.
  4. Now, select “Incoming settings” after scrolling down.
  5. Next, change verizon.net to pop.verizon.net under POP3 server. Then change the “Security type” to SSL, and change “Port” to “995”. Finally, tap “Done” in top right corner.
  6. After that, scroll down and tap on “Outgoing settings”.
  7. Change verizon.net to smtp.verizon.net under “SMTP server”.
  8. Also, change “Port” to “465” and “Security type” to “SSL”. Tap “Done”.
  9. In order to ensure whether the settings are working properly, send a test email account.

For Windows Live

  1. Go to “Windows Live”, Locate and click Accounts > Properties.
  2. Click on the “Servers” Tab.
  3. Now, change the “Incoming mail (POP3)” to “verizon.net”. Also, change “Outgoing mail (SMTP) to “smtp.verizon.net”.
  4. Next, go to the “Advanced Tab”.
  5. Under the “Advanced tab”, set “Outgoing mail (SMTP) to “465” and select the box for option “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)”. Now, in the “Incoming mail (POP3)” set the value to “995” and make sure you check the box for “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)”. Finally, click “Ok”.
  6. Restart “Windows Live” and try sending a test message.

For iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

  1. Go to “Settings” option and select option “Mail, Contacts, and Calendars”.
  2. Select the Verizon email account.
  3. Now, scroll down to select “Advanced” option.
  4. Go to “Incoming Settings”, select “Use SSL”, make sure that “Authentication” is set to “Password”. Then change the Server Port to 995. Confirm the changes.
  5. Now, go to Incoming Mail Server and enter “host name” as “verizon.net”.
  6. Then go to “Outgoing Mail Server” and select “SMTP”.
  7. Tap “On” under “Primary Server”.
  8. Under “Outgoing Mail Server”, Change the “Host Name” to verizon.net.
  9. Next, select “Use SSL”, ensure “Authentication” is set to “Password”. Finally, change the “Server Port” to “465”. Tap “Done
  10. Tap the Verizon button once the account is verified, and then tap “Done”.
  11. Send a test email message to make sure that the settings are correct.

For Apple Mail

  1. Go to Mail > Preferences.
  2. Under the “Advanced tab”, uncheck the option “Automatically detect and maintain account settings”. Close the window and save.
  3. Now, again go to Mail > Preferences and under the “Account Information” tab, Set “Incoming Mail Server” to “verizon.net”.
  4. Next, go to “Advanced” tab, set the “Port” to “995” and check the box for “Use SSL”. And, recheck the box for “Automatically detect and maintain account settings”.
  5. Then go to “Account Information” tab, and select “Edit SMTP Server List...”.
  6. Finally, change “Server name” to “verizon.net” and “Port” to “465”, check the box for “Use SSL” and click “Ok”.
